Morning Walks: A Perspective
Winter brings with it a bunch of exciting things. One of the things is the group of people with the resolution to start that much delayed morning walks. It's a treat to watch them walking on the footpath.
The other day, I was revolving around our housing society. You know, to keep myself fit. :) This is one good habit which I have incorporated for last few weeks, and I find it a truly joyful experience. While on this pleasure walk, I also observe things, people, sunrise and so on. Sunrise is always the best sight, but people are also worth a look. :) From their walking style, one can easily guess their personality type.
Some are walki-talkies. They are eager to share their stories. These types find at least one topic to chew about every single day. It's as if they won't share it, they will explode.
The other type is fitness freaks. Staying healthy is their number one priority. They will do all sorts of things for staying in shape. Brisk morning walk is of course a must for them. They don't have time to look around, appreciate any sort of beauty.. they just need to complete a certain number of steps a day and their job is done. Walking is more like a duty for these creatures.
Then there come a "always ahead" guys. They want to win, no matter what. morning walk is more like a race for this type. They want to be the first. So they run all the way, most of the times leaving the purpose behind.
What is my type then? Perhaps a bit of each? But honestly, these days, I am trying to be a person who lives a day at a time. trying to live today instead of postponing it to some other time. I try to walk at my own pace- deeply breathing, appreciating the fact that I am alive, and planning for the day. Walking has almost become my fortress of solitude - my comfort zone.
it's good. shear pleasure. I am happy.. I am content.. I am alive. and I am living. Feels good :)
