Morning Walks: A Perspective

Winter brings with it a bunch of exciting things. One of the things is the group of people with the resolution to start that much delayed morning walks. It's a treat to watch them walking on the footpath.

The other day, I was revolving around our housing society. You know, to keep myself fit. :) This is one good habit which I have incorporated for last few weeks, and I find it a truly joyful experience. While on this pleasure walk, I also observe things, people, sunrise and so on. Sunrise is always the best sight, but people are also worth a look. :) From their walking style, one can easily guess their personality type.
Some are walki-talkies. They are eager to share their stories. These types find at least one topic to chew about every single day. It's as if they won't share it, they will explode.

The other type is fitness freaks. Staying healthy is their number one priority. They will do all sorts of things for staying in shape. Brisk morning walk is of course a must for them. They don't have time to look around, appreciate any sort of beauty.. they just need to complete a certain number of steps a day and their job is done. Walking is more like a duty for these creatures.

Then there come a "always ahead" guys. They want to win, no matter what. morning walk is more like a race for this type. They want to be the first. So they run all the way, most of the times leaving the purpose behind.

What is my type then? Perhaps a bit of each? But honestly, these days, I am trying to be a person who lives a day at a time. trying to live today instead of postponing it to some other time. I try to walk at my own pace- deeply breathing, appreciating the fact that I am alive, and planning for the day. Walking has almost become my fortress of solitude - my comfort zone.

it's good. shear pleasure. I am happy.. I am content.. I am alive. and I am living. Feels good :)

Winter Mornings - Sweet November..

Ok. It's sweet November. The weather is at it's best. watching the sunrise from the balcony was never so beautiful. Initially, it's like an adorable orange. You would like to drink every drop of the fresh juice. Then within a blink or two, it becomes brighter and brighter. A real tear-causer. I close my eyes, and automatically, the Gayatri Mantra starts in my mind -

भूर्भुवः स्वः
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्

I am ready for the day now.. such a blissful start to a great day.

The next best thing is tea-time. I am not a tea-freak, so to say. Meaning, consuming 10s of cups a day is not my cup of tea. But that morning kadak meethi chai is certainly a kick.

I open the fridge and take out the milk. and yeah, the finely chopped ginger is a must. that familiar taste rolls over my tongue. I mix water and milk nicely. add a handsome amount of sugar to it. After all, what is a great tea with just a pinch of sugar? The moment I add ginger to it, the mixture first shows a bit of reluctance. Then I spoon it to the extent that the ginger is finally accepted and is now ready to pour it's taste to my tea. And the final element- yeah, tea powder. nice masala tea powder. giving that brilliant color to my tea. And when I am about to pour it, I hear the most familiar voice - "Chaha tayar jhala ka? (meaning "is the tea ready?" ). my love is overwhelmed to catch the sight of me serving the tea on the table. As if, this is the very first time... I really like his way of living life. It's always one day at  a time for him.

And then we start talking.. it's around 6 o clock. Arin is in sound sleep- probably hoping that it's a holiday for school. it's just me and my love. chewing various topics... I wonder how we never get bored... is it the tea, or it's the company?

Hello Friends,

After a decent number of posts on my marathi blog marathisumane.blogspot.com, here comes another one!! This time, in English.

Before I start posting, let me tell you the motivation behind this new venture.....so here is a questionnaire for you... !!

When was the last time, you saw the colors in rainbow?
Have you recently tried crawling, just to please your toddler? How painful was that? Do you remember the smell of the baby soap?
What is the color of your partner's favorite dress?
Do you sit idle and cherish the fun you had during college years? ... that 2 am Maggie noodles, garam chai, late-night studies, mass-bunking, picnics, infatuations... favorite professors?

The questionnaire can be endless.. The point is -

We all exist. But the million dollar question is, how many of us do really live life?

We all know these different sayings - Life is made of of moments... Life is a beautiful gift... blah blah blah...
We understand... We want to live.. But is it that difficult? Hmm... I guess not...!!

So, friends,
This blog is meant for picking up those tiny but precious moments in life.. I have a feeling that, in  a day, there is at-least a moment of revelation...
a moment of fulfillment.. a moment of pure joy.. We just have to find one, and seal it... Just like we store our funds for a rainy day, lets put together all these moments of revelation for the day, when we have lost all the hope.. we feel defeated.. we are on the verge of breaking down....!! This is the time to open our eternal treasure of pleasure... those happy moments...!! And then get back to life with a zing.
